Hey, beauty lovers! 💅 It’s Raven here, your go-to nail tech at Pnk Chanel. Today, I want to talk about something that’s super important for both nail techs and clients to understand—why I don’t work over other nail techs’ work and what’s really going on with the products used on your nails.
The Real Deal: MMA vs. EMA
Not all acrylic products are created equal, and the difference between MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) and EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) is a big one:
MMA (Methyl Methacrylate)
Often used in cheaper, non-regulated nail salons.
Extremely hard and difficult to remove, sometimes requiring 45 minutes or longer to soak off.
Can cause serious damage to your natural nails—think thinning, brittleness, and even painful lifting.
Not approved for safe professional nail use because of these risks.
EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate)
The safe, professional standard used by licensed nail techs like me.
Flexible, durable, and designed to protect the natural nail while giving you beautiful results.
Much easier to soak off and gentler on your nails overall.
Why I Require a "New Client Soak Off"
When you come to me with a set done elsewhere, I don’t always know what product was used—and if it’s MMA, I have to remove it properly before applying anything new. This isn’t me being picky; it’s about your nail health and the quality of my work.
By choosing "New Client Soak Off" when booking, we:
Safely remove any harmful MMA products.
Give your nails a clean, healthy foundation.
Ensure you get flawless, lasting results every time.
Ready for a Fresh, Healthy Start?
Your nails deserve the best—safe products, expert care, and stunning results.
